It takes a family!

Thanks Steve, for offering your property and hospitality for the Paleczny family reunion on September 15, 2002. And thanks also for your foresight in installing a large tent near your lake which provided comfort in view of the occasional drizzle of rain.

Seventy-two people signed the prize stubs, so I can assume that is a close estimate of the numbers attending. Winners were John and Eleanor Nespal, Nancy (Tim), Jean (Hank), Amy (Mark), Phil Martis and Patti Filsinger.

The Bridge game was a constant, with Sister Francesca, Bea, Bob Pullen (Jeannette P.) and Lucille as regular players and other substitutes. Some busied themselves with Cribbage and at least one decent-size Bass was caught by Eric DenBak (Rick). The paddle boat and golf cart were a hit with the young people, especially Kendra and Jasmine (Jan). Was Jason Koopman the only little guy who managed to sink his feet (with shoes) into the muck? Oh, well, Mom Julie took it in stride and came to the rescue. And, best of all, this was an opportunity to renew relationships with our cousins and family, while nibbling on cheese and crackers, fruit and beverages.

Thanks to people like Camilla and Sue (Ralph), the cabbage rolls were delicious, and they managed to organize the distribution of food, along with Sally, Ray and others. Tim and Peter took over the chef duties, barbequing ostrich and garden burgers as well as sausages, and filling up each plate as it passed before them. Wonderful salads and desserts just magically turned up and were devoured.

It takes a village, or a team, or just the wonderful people with which we are blessed, in the Paleczny family.
